Interfaith Update Call: Housing on the Gulf Coast
February 14th, 2011 | Uncategorized | 2 Comments »
Years after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike and Gustav, the destruction remains visible in the lack of affordable housing and dire state of the general housing stock across the Gulf Coast. The economic toll of the oil spill further complicates this challenge, though rebuilding continues in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast.
Join us on February 23 at 3pm EST to hear from advocates in the field and government experts as they review the latest stories and statistics, and lead a conversation about what you can do to help.
- Dial-in Number: 1-213-289-0500
- Participant Access Code: 820086

Our agency continues to participate in (FEMA funded) Disaster Case Management Pilot Programs, post Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, in Louisiana and Texas. We have facilitated many applications for (HUD funded) CDBG housing repair/rebuild assistance. We are very familiar with the continued difficulties our clients are having, as well as the successes found in other areas. We continue to advocate for these disaster impacted residents, as well as make sound recommendations based on our consortium’s experiences. We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this call. Thank you for your outreach.
Jane Aslam, Dir. of Disaster Response Services, ICNA Relief USA
Thanks Jane we look forward to having you on the call! Please invite others from your organization and network as well – all are welcome to join the conversation.
